Reviewing process

The assessment process of the articles is done by peer reviewers, under a double-blind system, in which authors and evaluators reciprocally ignore their identity and respective institutional affiliation. The editorial team considers the relevance of the material received, notifying the author in a timely manner regarding the acceptance or rejection of the material sent.

  1. Reception of the articles through the website rchd.uchile.cl; review by the editor (s), who will estimate their relevance to the subject of the call and compliance with the requirements set forth in the publication rules. Once accepted for peer evaluation, the authors will be informed of the formal reception of the article.
  1. Once the deadline for receiving articles has expired, the editors will contact at least two evaluators, who will not have a record of the authors. Also, the author or authors will not know who will review your article.
  1. The evaluation will be defined on the basis of the following points:
  • Originality of the subject, the approach with which it is approached and the clarity with which the arguments are expressed.
  • Thematic coherence regarding the call of the number.
  • Logical structure in the formal development of the article, with a correct wording and spelling.
  • Congruence of the images used in the article, be these photographs, plans, tables, graphs or others.
  • Relevance of the reference used and correct use of the APA citation standard.
  1. The evaluators can conclude that: they accept the article; the article is accepted with modifications of form and / or content; they reject the article
  1. In case of discrepancy between the evaluation of the peers, the editor (s) will make the decision to accept, request modification, or reject the article.
  1. The editors will gather in a single document the evaluations of each article and send them to the respective authors, in order to inform the reasons for the acceptance, request for modifications or rejection of the article. The author (s) will have a period of three weeks to make the modifications requested by the journal.
  1. In case the article is subject to corrections, the editor (s) will receive the new version and will verify the fulfillment of the observations and suggestions made by the evaluators. If new doubts arise, the author (s) will be contacted again.
  1. Once the evaluation process of all the articles has been completed, the editor (s) will notify the Editorial Committee of the definitive contents of the new issue of the journal, in order to obtain from them different comments and suggestions for the editing process and final publication.

The complete evaluation process of an article sent to RChD: creación y pensamiento, may take between 4 and 20 weeks, from its reception until the assessment report.
