The objective of this paper is to establish a relation between the discursive mechanisms of the social utopia and processes of migration and memory in revolutionary Cuba. In order to address this question we focus on some characteristics of the utopian-political discourse in power as well as the relation between utopian discourse and subjects, especially related to questions of migration and memory. This discussion will be further extended to readings of various works of fiction, mainly novels and films. The guiding hypothesis of this study will be that subjects who distance themselves from official utopian discourse will be pushed away from the “good place”, as postulated by this discourse, towards a “non-place”, its only other option left.
