During 2013 I made an ethnographic observation at the Cadet School of the Argentine Federal Police (PFA) and witnessed a confusing episode, linked to the disappearance of a firearm, which aroused controversies and various opinions. We will analyze in this work the disputes of interpretation of the event, to investigate different representations of the training and the senses of police work. We are interested in analyzing how federal police officers interpret their work. To do this, we will study disputes about the senses of training and professionalization of the forces.
