Abstract

The objective of this article is to analyze the intersections related to race, racism, and the Cuban Revolution during the 1960s. From this investigative perspective, the research questions the alleged disappearance of the racial issue during this period. For the search and discussion of the counterpoints and paradoxes of the research, the literature review, the analysis of historical sources are used; as well as the historical-logical, inductive-deductive and hypothetical-deductive analysis for theoretical inquiry. The research shows that the exchanges on the subject were colored by a complex network of advances, setbacks and tensions inside and outside the Cuban sphere. In addition, the presence of the racial issue is evidenced throughout the 1960s and its projection to later stages. In the same way, the need to deepen in comprehensive and multidisciplinary studies that make visible the importance of these discussions and the impact factor of race, racism and decolonization in the development of contemporary Cuban socialism is evident
